But what is the essence of designing the website when you don’t know the right tools to upload all the features you need to make it a wonderful website, here in this article I will be explaining in details how to upload different things to your website using a software called File Transfer Protocol, it is no secret by now if you hear that you will be needing a software to do all this things, the type of software you will be needing depends on the features you want to upload and the type of platform on which your website was hosted or would be hosted, FTP is the most important tools  when it comes to uploading files and software to your website, this is how it works, the FTP software stand has an intermediary between your computer’s hard disk and the server you are trying to upload to, what happens is that FTP simple translate your file, pictures, software or which ever file you what you upload, to a language that the hosting server understands, after you have chosen the file to upload and the software has translated it to the language the hosting server understand then it uploads it to your website according to your instruction, SIMPLE?  Below I shall be listing out what you must have to make use of the FTP software.

1. A PERSONAL COMPUTER: This is highly important for security purpose, because the security level of all available software is nothing to write home about, even though there are FTP servers that gives you the chance to do the transfer on there host server through the internet, to me this is not advisable because you will have to submit your website Control Panel username and password, which simple puts your website at stake, because the FTP data’s are not encrypted, the appear the way you put them therefore any programmer or IT student that can perform ordinary Data Sniffing trick will be able to hack your website, since you’ve provided the username and password., therefore it is highly advisable to do everything from your own computer, to increase the privacy level of your website.
2. HOSTING USERNAME AND PASSWORD: Before you start thinking about publishing your website, you must have registered and paid for your website hosting, remember it has to have a home on the internet, that is why you must pay for a hosting company to build a home for your website, so that when ever you publish it, other users all over the world would have access to view it from anywhere at anytime, therefore you must have the Cpanel Username and password before you will be able to upload to your website, if you are just publishing the website to the internet you will also be needing your Cpanel user name and password, consulting your hosting company about this is highly important, because some time hosting server provide you with a FTP account to make it easier when you want to upload. I must also tell you that website hosting is not free you will be charged based on the type of service you want..
3. INTERNET FACILITIES: For you to use any FTP software, is either you want to download something from the internet or you want to upload something to the internet, so you must be connected to the internet before you can be able to do all this things, you might decide to use the cyber café or use your own personal connection but either way it must be a highly secured connection, to avoid data interruption..
4. BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS: I said earlier that you don’t need to be a pro before you can upload to your website, yes that is right but it doesn’t mean you should not have any Prior knowledge in operating a computer, therefore for you to be able to do the uploading you must have some basic knowledge about computers.
5. FTP SOFTWARE: Above all you will be needing the File Transfer Protocol Software before you can upload your files or software, here I shall be listing the names of some FTP software and the platform in which they operates on,  they are all free and reliable because I have used them before

 The FTP client software is made up of two panes, that of your local computer and the host server you are uploading to, after you’ve been connected to the internet, you will have to fill in your hosting details, such as the host name, your username and password, then you will click on quick connect, if the information you’ve provided are accurate all the folders in your website would be visible in the Host server pane, all you have to do is to double click on the software you want to install and follow the uploading wizard instruction.
